Binge-eating disorder is characterized by frequent consumption of unusually large amounts of food and inability to stop eating.
Almost everyone overeats on occasion, such as having seconds or thirds of a holiday meal. But when, excessive overeating that feels out of control and becomes a regular occurrence, it then crosses the line to binge-eating disorder.
Symptoms:
- Eating significantly more than those around you
- Feel guilty and uncomfortable with the amount you eat
- Difficulty controlling the amount you eat
- Eating when full or hungry
