Hypercholesterolemia

Hypercholesterolemia refers to high amounts of cholesterol in the blood. This can increase the risk of heart attack or stroke. Genetic factors can contribute to an increased risk for hypercholesterolemia. 

Symptoms:

High cholesterol in the blood may cause the following symptoms:

  • Bums in knees, knuckles or elbows
  • Swollen Achilles tendons
  • Yellow tint in eyes
